Early Life:

Moretz was born in Atlanta, Georgia. Her mother, Teri is a nurse, and her father, Lee McCoy Moretz, is a plastic surgeon. Parents are divorced. Moretz has four older brothers. Brandon, Trevor, Colin and Ethan.She described the family as “very Christian”. One of her brothers, Trevor, is her acting coach and accompanies her on trips and press dates when her parents are unable to attend.

Moretz moved from Cartersville, Georgia, to New York in 2002, with his mother and older brother, Trevor, as he was accepted into the Professional Performing Arts School, which was what gave him an interest in acting. Trevor taught him some acting techniques he learned at school. When Moretz realized how much she enjoyed the activity, the family decided to take some tests to see if she could apply her professional skills.

Professional Life:

Moretz made appearances in The Guardian, as Violett and in the TV movie The Family Plan. At the age of eight, he participated in his first film for the cinema, as Molly in Heart of the Beholder. But Chloë’s success came with the new version of the movie The Amityville Horror, in the role of Chelsea Lutz, co-starring with Ryan Reynolds and Melissa George. For this role, she was nominated for the Young Artist Award. This success gave him several invitations to participate in TV series, including two episodes of Desperate Housewives.

In 2006, Chloë reappeared in the cinema with the film Big Momma’s House 2, in the role of Carrie Fuller, in addition to acting in Wicked Little Things and Room 6. In 2008, she acted alongside Jennifer Lawrence in The Poker House, a film based on the life of director Lori Petty. In 2010, Chloë acted in Let Me In, where she played the protagonist Abby. In October 2011 Hugo, a Martin Scorsese film, was released. In the film Chloë plays Isabelle. In 2010, she was also on Kick-Ass. Moretz acted in the video “Our Deal”, by the American indie band Best Coast. The clip came from an American MTV project called Supervideos, which aims to bring together new musicians, directors and actors. “Our Deal” was directed by actress and director Drew Barrymore. The video was named “West Sid Story”, and was inspired by the novel Romeo and Juliet; in it you can see the fight between two gangs, with a hip hop look from the 80’s. “Julieta” is Moretz, and “Romeu” is actor Tyler Posey. The clip also features Donald Glover, Miranda Cosgrove, Shailene Woodley and Alia Shawnkat. The clip also won an extended version of 11 minutes, which uses more of the band’s songs, amplifying the drama of the plot.

In March 2012, Moretz was in The Drummer, a film about the last six years of the life of Dennis Wilson, drummer for The Beach Boys. She acts alongside Aaron Eckhart, Rupert Grint and Vera Farmiga. In 2013 Moretz played the title role in a re-adaptation of Stephen King, for the film Carrie, directed by Kimberly Peirce, and reprising his role in the sequel to Kick-Ass 2. In January 2013, Moretz was chosen to play the protagonist Mia in the adaptation of Gayle Forman, If I Stay and in 2016, she was chosen for the film Brain on Fire. She has since been cast in several other productions such as O Protetor (2014), a project in which she worked alongside Denzel Washington, A 5º Onda (2016), based on the book of the same name written by Rick Yancey, and November Criminals (2016), feature film with the participation of Ansel Elgort, who has already acted with Moretz in the film Carrie.
