Lily Chloe Ninette Thomson (Esher, Surrey, England; April 5, 1989), better known by her stage name Lily James, is a British actress. She is best known for having played Lady Rose MacClare in the period drama Downton Abbey, Deborah in Baby Driver, Ella in Cinderella and young Donna Sheridan in Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again.
Early Life of Lily James:
Born in the British town of Esher, located in the county of Surrey, on April 5, 1989, she is the middle daughter of actress Ninette Thomson (born Mantle) and James Thomson, actor and musician who died in January 2016. He has two brothers, one older and one younger. His grandmother, Helen Horton, was a renowned American actress.
She began her studies at the College of Arts Education in Tring, England, and subsequently studied acting at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, from which she graduated in 2010.
