Early Life of Mary Elizabeth Winstead:
Mary Elizabeth is the daughter of Betty Lou and James Ronald Winstead. When she was five years old, her family moved to Sandy, Utah. Interested in art, ballet, and acting, Winstead had the opportunity to study dance in a summer program at the prestigious Joffrey Ballet School in New York City. Once there, she decided to study acting.
Professional Life of Mary Elizabeth Winstead:
Winstead began her career in the late 1990s, when she starred as Kristy in an episode of the drama series Touched by an Angel. In 1997, she played Jessica Bannett on the soap opera Passions.
The following year she participated in two episodes of the series Promised Land as Chloe. She later had appearances in the television films The Long Road Home, Father Can’t Cope and Then Came Jones, and in series such as Wolf Lake and Tru Calling. In 2004 she was part of the cast of the television film Monster Island.
In 2005, Winstead acted as Lisa Apple in the comedy film Checking Out. That same year she played Gwen Grayson in the youth comedy film Sky High, sharing credits with Michael Angarano, Kurt Russell, and Kelly Preston. She had a supporting role as Evelyn in the horror film The Ring Two, a sequel to the film The Ring, starring Naomi Watts.
In 2006 she acted in two horror films: Final Destination 3, playing the main role of Wendy Christensen; and Black Christmas, as a co-star in the role of Heather Lee-Fitzgerald. That same year she participated in the drama film Bobby whose cast includes Laurence Fishburne, Anthony Hopkins, Ashton Kutcher, Lindsay Lohan, Demi Moore, Sharon Stone, Shia LaBeouf and Brian Geraghty.

In 2008, Winstead starred in Make It Happen playing Lauryn Cooper and sharing scenes with Riley Smith and Tessa Thompson. And two years later she was in the movie Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, where she plays Ramona Flowers and forms a leading couple with Michael Cera.
Around 2011, he starred in the film The Thing, a sequel to the 1982 film of the same name, giving life to Dr. Kate Lloyd, and in that same year he appeared in the short films Magnificat and Cost of Living.
A year later, she starred in director James Ponsoldt’s drama film Smashed, garnering rave reviews for her performance opposite Aaron Paul, and was the winner of the American Dramatic Jury Special Award.
