Mila Kunis (English: Milena Markovna “Mila” Kunis; Ukrainian: born August 14, 1983) is an American actress.
In 1991, at the age of seven, she moved with her family to Los Angeles from the Soviet Union. She enrolled in acting classes after school holidays and was soon called upon to act by some agents.
She had starred in various TV movies and commercials and in less than 15 years she managed to garner attention by starring in ‘Two Seventies Show‘. In September 1999, she starred as Meg Griffin in Family Guy (an animated television film).
In 2008, she played the role of Rachel Jensen in the big screen film Forgetting Sarah Marshall, after which she played many other roles. Other films include ‘Mona Sax’ in ‘Max Pan‘, ‘Solera’ in ‘Books of Alley‘, ‘Jamie’ in ‘Friends with Benefits’, ‘Lori‘ in ‘Ted’ and ‘Oz, The Great and Powerful’. She played the role of Wicked Witch of the West (Theodora).
In her role as Lilly in Black Swan, she won acclaim from audiences around the world, winning the Best Actress award at the 67th Venice International Film Festival.
She was also nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress and a Screen Actress Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actress.
Kunis was born in Chernivtsi, Soviet Union (now: Ukraine). His mother, Elvira, is a physics teacher, and his father, Mark Kunis, is a mechanical engineer who drives a taxi. Kunis’ brother is Michael.
In 2011, she said her parents had a good job, the family was lucky and they were not poor. Kunis’ parents thought of leaving the Soviet Union because they did not see the future of their children there.
In 1991, when Kunis was just seven years old, her family moved to Los Angeles, California with a total of 250. Her parents had to give up a good job and a degree because that degree didn’t work in the United States.

At the age of nine, Kunis was taken by her father to the acting classes at Beverly Hill Studios, a class after school holidays, where she met Susan Curtis. Curtis later became the manager of Kunis.
