Olga Kurylenko (Ukrainian: Berdyansk, Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic; November 14, 1979) is a Franco-Ukrainian model and actress. She became known and gained international fame after playing her role as Bond Girl in the film Quantum of Solace.

Olga Kurylenko was discovered at 15 by a model seeker while on vacation in Moscow. She moved to Paris at the age of 16, where she signed for the Madison modeling agency, and within a few years, she was already on the cover of Elle, Marie-Claire and Madame Figaro magazines. In 2001 she obtained French nationality after her marriage to him. French fashion photographer Cédric van Mol. She began her filmographic career in France in 2005.
She received the Certificate of Excellence Award at the 2006 Brooklyn Film Festival (BFF) for her performance in L’Annulaire, by French director Diane Bertrand. She also acted in the collective film Paris, je t’aime, specifically in the Quartier de la Madeleine segment, by Vincenzo Natali, alongside Elijah Wood.
In 2007 she starred in Hitman, alongside Timothy Olyphant. But her fame increases thanks to her role as Bond Girl (named Camille) in Agent 007’s film Quantum of Solace.
In 2011 he starred in Ukraine in the film La Terre outragée (in English: Land of Oblivion), by the French-Israeli director Michale Boganim. It is one of the first fictional films about the Chernobyl catastrophe, 25 years after the explosion of the nuclear power plant. The same year he also starred in the Terrence Malick film To the Wonder, along with Ben Affleck, Javier Bardem and Rachel McAdams.
She then starred in the series Magic City, released on March 30, 2012.
In 2013 she had a major role in the American science fiction film Oblivion, directed and co-produced by Joseph Kosinski, and starring Tom Cruise and Andrea Riseborough, among others.
In 2018 she starred alongside Rowan Atkinson in the film Johnny English: Back in Action as Ophelia Bhuletova.
Olga Kurylenko was discovered by a modeling talent scout while on vacation in Moscow at the age of 13. When Olga turned 17, she signed a contract with the Paris-based modeling agency Madison.
It was only at the age of 18 that she later appeared as a model in Vogue and Elle magazines. While she was working as a model in Paris, Olga then tried to help her mother to live a better life in her hometown in Ukraine.
Apart from the two magazines above, Olga has also appeared as a model in Le Figaro and Marie Claire. She has also appeared in Lejaby lingerie, bebe, Clarins, and Helena Rubinstein. Then later as a model in the collection of Roberto Cavalli and Kenzo, and finally, she was also a candidate for a model for the Victoria’s Secret catalog.
Kurylenko was also the cover star of the December 2008 issue of Maxim magazine for the US version and on the cover of the February 2009 issue of the Ukrainian edition of Maxim magazine.
In 2005, Olga Kurylenko started her acting career in France. She then received a certificate of excellence at the Brooklyn International Film Festival in 2006 for his role in L’Annulaire, and also in the Paris series, je t’aime segment of Quartier de la Madeleine with Elijah Wood.

To date, Olga Kurylenko is the first and only Bond Girl to come from the USSR, or in today’s era, a post-Soviet country. And of course he received a mixed response in these countries.
A communist group in Saint Petersburg Russia, KPLO assessed: “Kurylenko has his own style in playing the character, and he also dared to surprise the East with his appearance in a film that became the main enemy of the Tartars” (in this case James Bond). On the other hand, the mayor of Berdyansk proposed a street name for Olga Kurylenko after
she and her mother were invited to a Ukrainian state ceremony, where the two of them were specially hosted by Ukraine’s First Lady KaterynaYushchenko at the official residence of Ukrainian President Victor Yushchenko.
