Sophia Jane Myles (London, March 18, 1980) is a BAFTA Award-winning English actress, best known for playing Beth Turner on the series Moonlight and for playing Kate Brecek in the film Hallam Foe.

Sophia is the daughter of Peter Myles, an Anglican vicar, and Jane, an editor, has a younger brother, Oliver who is a lifeguard. On March 21, 2020, her father died after being infected with the dangerous COVID-19 pandemic.

Professional Life of Sophia Myles:
Her first play was performed at school and she was accepted to Cambridge to study Philosophy. It was around this time that she, after auditioning for Julian Fellowes, settled on acting.
Her first role was for television, in a new adaptation of “The Prince and the Pauper” by Mark Twain in 1996. In 2001 she got a small role in From Hell, a film played by Johnny Depp. She subsequently appeared in the film Underworld and its sequel, Underworld: Evolution.
In 2004 she appeared in the film Thunderbirds where she played Lady Penelope. A year later in 2006, she appeared in the movie Tristan and Isolde where she gave life to Isolde.
She returned to television as Madame Pompadour in an episode of Doctor Who. She also appeared in the BBC adaptation of the film Dracula and in 2006 she participated in Art School Confidential.
In 2007 she co-starred in the series Moonlight, where she played reporter Beth Turner, until the end of the series. Beth is the romantic interest of private investigator and vampire Mick St. John played by Australian actor Alex O’Loughlin.
That same year she participated in the movie Hallam Foe, where she played Kate Breck, for her performance she won a BAFTA award, in the category of “Best Actress”.
In 2010 she joined the ninth season of the spy series Spooks in which she played MI5 officer Beth Bailey until the end of the season.
In 2014, she appeared as a guest in the last two episodes of the second season of the series Crossing Lines where she played Dr. Anna Clarke, the prison psychiatrist, during the last episode of the season Anna shoots Detective Louis Daniel three times. (Marc Lavoine).
