Summer Lyn Glau (b. San Antonio, Texas; July 24, 1981) is an American actress and dancer. She is best known for her role as River Tam on the television series Firefly and its later film adaptation Serenity.
In 2008 she participated in the series Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, playing the character of Cameron Phillips.

Early Years of Summer Glau:
Summer Glau is the eldest of three sisters, the daughter of a contractor and a teacher. She took dance classes from a young age – a fact that led to her mother being the one to educate her during a period of her childhood – becoming a professional dancer from the age of twelve.
Due to an injury, she had to leave the world of dance, which helped her move in another direction: being an actress. In 2002 she moved to Los Angeles, where she landed her first role for an episode of Angel. Joss Whedon, creator of the series, noticed her to play a new character in his next project, Firefly, where he played River Tam, a mysterious young victim of government experiments.
In the 2008 series Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, she played a mysterious Terminator who travels back in time to 1999 to protect John Connor.
She also participated in episode 17 of the second season of the series The Big Bang Theory, playing herself, and also acted in episode 16 of the third season of the series Hawaii Five-0, playing Maggie.
Personal Life of Summer Glau:
Summer Glau is linked as an active member of charities such as the B.C Women’s Hospital & Health Center, where she autographed several teddy bears for sale on eBay to raise money for the hospital.
Glau is an animal lover, and has shown her support for the Los Angeles Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, where she hand-painted a decorative pet container that was later sold on eBay to raise money.
She became a vegetarian in 1995, but claimed that she ate meat during the 2005 filming of Serenity due to the amount of physical training required.
Glau has trained in multiple forms of martial arts, including kung fu and kickboxing.
Glau is married to actor Val Morrison. In January 2015 the couple had their first daughter, Milena Jo. In October 2017 their second daughter, Sunny Isabou, was born.
Professional Life of Summer Glau:
Summer played her first role in Joss Whedon’s Angel in Waiting in the Wings, in which she danced Giselle to demonstrate her ballet skills. Shortly thereafter, Whedon invites her to take part in the filming of the series “Firefly” as River, which premiered in the US on September 20, 2002.
Summer then appeared on an episode of “Love Conquers Al” on “Detective Rush,” after which she landed a small role in the movie “Sleepover,” playing a girl selling tickets. Glau played small roles in the series “C.S.I .: Crime Scene Investigation”
(series “What’s Eating Gilbert Grissom?”) And “Division” (character Crystal Burns, girlfriend of Jeremy Earhart). In 2006, Summer played Tess Dorner, a girl with schizophrenia, in the TV series 4400. Later, Summer starred in the feature films Mammoth and Sarah’s Dedication.
In Terminator: Fight for the Future, which premiered on January 13, 2008, Summer played the role of Cameron Phillips, a terminator sent back in time to protect Sarah and John Connor. In the Demon’s Hand series there are several scenes where Cameron dances a ballet.
In 2009, Summer played herself in the 17th episode of the second season of the comedy series The Big Bang Theory, where the protagonists discover that their favorite actress is on the train with them.
In the same year, Glau starred in several episodes of The Doll House as Bennett. In 2010 she played one of the main roles in the series “Cloak“. After that, she appeared occasionally in the series “Alpha People“.
In 2013-2014, Isabelle Roshev played a minor role in the second season of the television series Arrow. In the last episode, Summer’s character was killed and her participation in the series ended.
