“The King of Staten Island 2020” is an American comedy film that will be released, directed by Judd Apato, Apato, Pete Davidson and Dave Silus screenwriter. The starring roles are Davidson, Marissa Tome, Bill Burr, Belle Pauli, Marty Apato and Steve Busme.
The film was released on June 12, 2020 by Universal Pictures through a streaming platform.
Pete Davidson’s father Matthew worked as a firefighter at the New York City Fire Department and was killed on September 11, 2001 during the rescue work during the terrorist attacks in New York. At the age of 16 he started his first attempts as a stand-up comedian in a bowling alley in Staten Island, where a group of friends encouraged him to go on stage.
Davidson has had Crohn’s disease since he was a teenager. He attended St. Joseph by the Sea High School, then Tottenville High School and finally Xaverian High School in Brooklyn, where he graduated in 2011. From March to October 2018 Davidson was in a relationship with the singer Ariana Grande, from January to April 2019 with Kate Beckinsale.
Directed by Judd Apatow, who also wrote the script together with Davidson and Dave Sirus. The film music was composed by Michael Andrews.

The film was to premiere on March 13, 2020 as the opening film of the South by Southwest Film Festival. A few days before the festival started, this was postponed to an unknown date due to the coronavirus pandemic, thus also the premiere of the film.
The film was to be shown at the Tribeca Film Festival in mid-April 2020, but this was also postponed. Nevertheless, the film was made available online from April 15 to 26, 2020, the festival’s original window of time.
Universal Pictures presented the first trailer at the beginning of May 2020. After the film was originally scheduled to hit the US cinemas on June 19, 2020 and German cinemas on July 30, 2020, the film will be available as video-on-demand from June 12, 2020. The King of Staten Island 2020
