In New Zealand she studied at Raphael House Rudolf Steiner School until she was eight years old and then attended the academic year 1994-1995 at Hutt Intermediate School in Wellington. In 1995, while she was recording Flying Free, her parents decided to divorce.

When Anna was 15 years old, she and her mother decided to move to Los Angeles to further her acting career. She finished high school at Windward School, earning her diploma in June 2000,

and then moved to New York where she enrolled at Columbia University until she dropped out a year later to focus on her acting career. Anna continued living in New York until in 2007, because of the filming of True Blood, she moved to Venice (Los Angeles).

In 2001, she acquired New Zealand citizenship, so that she has dual Canadian and New Zealand citizenship, although she has stated that she considers herself New Zealand.

Professional Life of Anna Paquin:

Although she is reluctant to talk about her private life, it is known that she has dated actor Logan Marshall-Green from 2004 to 2005. At the end of that year she began dating Kieran Culkin until 2007, with whom she had worked in After Ashley. and in Margaret.

She is currently married to her True Blood co-star Stephen Moyer, both of whom began dating shortly after auditions for the series, which were before the summer of 2007.

They did not confirm their relationship until February 2009 in an interview for TV magazine. Guide US and six months later announced that they were engaged to be married in Malibu on August 21 of the following year.

In March 2012 the couple announced that they would be parents, Anna giving birth to a boy in early September and a girl. On April 1, 2010, as part of the “Give a Damn” advertising campaign aimed at raising funds for an organization for LGBT rights, she publicly admitted to being bisexual.

In 2008 it became known that his sister Katya had been diagnosed in 2006 with a brain tumor against which she was fighting for her life. In 2009, she underwent her fourth surgery.

That year in an interview about her portrayal of Irena Sendler in The Courageous Heart of Irena Sendler Anna commented on Irena’s strength by comparing it to her sister’s situation:

On several occasions Anna has stated that she considers herself a very athletic person and that she usually practices swimming, boxing, running, riding a longboard (longer skateboard), attends Ballet classes and rides her bike.

Her hobbies also include knitting, she is a rugby fan and likes photography; She also knows how to play the cello and the piano and likes to sing. She considers herself a coffee and work addict, as she herself would say a workaholic, and she is a great lover of animals. She is a fan of the independent music group Nine Inch Nails, Fiona Apple, and The Beatles.

Over the years her beauty has been recognized in various magazine lists such as Teen People magazine which in 2002 named her one of the 25 sexiest stars under 25, Maxim magazine ranked her 69th out of 100 people.

Sexiest in 2001. 50th in 2008. 8th 84th in 2010. and 76th in 2014. while ranked her 71st out of the 99 Most Desired Women of 2009 And ranked 79th in 2010,

also appeared on Playboy magazine’s 2010 Sexiest Celebrities list. It has a highly visible diastema. She has two tattoos: an A on her right ankle and a small circle on her left wrist.

In 1991 Anna went to the audition of the film The Piano to avoid having to go to class that day and accompany her sister, who was the one who initially appeared for the role of Flora.

She was cast in the role of an audition of more than 1,000 girl actresses. This film made her debut and was highly praised by critics as well as being worth an Oscar for the best-supporting actress at just eleven years old,

which made her the second-youngest winner of an Oscar in history, only behind Tatum O’Neal. The acceptance of the award was one of the most unique of the Oscars since when Anna took the stage to collect her statuette,

she stayed for more than 20 seconds without saying anything and laughing, making the entire Kodak theater laugh with her. When she finished her speech,

she sat back down with her parents, leaving Gene Hackman alone on stage with no winning actress to take to the press room. Anna is the first Canadian-born actress to win an Oscar and the only New Zealand actress to own one.

For many years, she kept her Oscar in the closet so that her friends would not feel uncomfortable when they came to visit her, but she currently has it in view on her dressing table.

Another interesting fact is that when she won the Oscar, Paquin notably surpassed the actress Holly Hunter who played her mother in the film, and that same night

she won the Oscar for best actress for said performance and was also nominated in the same category for his supporting role in another film called The Firm. Years later, in 2007, Holly was named in the LA Times one of the actresses to have lost an Oscar with the most grace.

For Anna The Piano was her first foray into the world of acting, but despite the Oscar, she showed that it would also be her last, as she did not intend to continue in the world of acting.

Not surprisingly, her only career ambition previously was to become New Zealand Prime Minister or a lawyer. However, due to the interest shown by various directors and the prestigious representation agency William Morris Agency, Anna seemed to reconsider her position and decided to continue her acting career.
