She is known for playing Maria Hill in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the films The Avengers (2012), Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014), Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), Avengers: Endgame (2019), Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019). She is also known for her role on the TV show How I Met Your Mother, where she plays Robin Scherbatsky.

Early Life of Cobie Smulders:
The daughter of a Dutch father and an English mother, Smulders was christened Jacoba in honor of her Dutch great-aunt, hence her nickname Cobie.
As a child, she wanted to pursue medicine or marine biology, but in high school, she appeared in school productions that piqued her interest in acting.
In 2000, she completed her studies at Lord Byng Secondary School with high honors, with her being chosen as “Most Respected.” She was discovered by a modeling agency in her teens and she began to walk internationally in cities like New York, Paris, Milan, Berlin, Athens, and Tokyo.
In an interview with Venus Zine magazine, Smulders stated that she generated a “kind of hatred” for being a model and that the experience made him initially doubt about pursuing her acting career.

Cobie, who currently resides in Los Angeles, California, married Taram Killam, her partner since 2004, in 2012. On May 14, 2009, she gave birth to their first daughter: Shaelyn Cado Killam.
The announcement of her pregnancy came on November 26, 2008, by the hand of TV Guide just a month after her partner Alyson Hannigan announced hers. She is great friends with her castmate in How I Met Your Mother Neil Patrick Harris (Barney Stinson).
In 2015, Smulders indicated that she had been diagnosed with ovarian cancer when she was 25 years old while filming the third season of How I Met Your Mother in 2007. They had to remove two tumors from her ovaries by surgery, but cancer had spread to lymph nodes, forcing him to undergo several surgeries over the course of two years.
