Rodriguez was born on July 29, 1987 in Miami, Florida. Her mother, Carolina Pérez, is a Cuban model, and her father is the Venezuelan singer Jose Luis Rodriguez, “El Puma”.
She is fluent in English and Spanish. Rodríguez has two older paternal half-sisters as a result of her father’s first marriage, the Venezuelan actresses and singers, Liliana Rodriguez and Lilibeth Rodríguez.

When she was just 2 1/2 years old, she entered the Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart in Miami, Florida, taking summer classes at the Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute.
Professional Life of Genesis Rodriguez:
She has participated in drama school productions and, at an early age, decided to pursue an acting career. As a teenager, she studied acting, dance, and vocal preparation, locally and nationally. When Rodriguez’s parents saw her determination for art, they enrolled her in more intense training programs.
She went to New York and enrolled in summer classes at the Lee Strasberg Institute of Theater and Film. Upon her return to Miami, she continued private instruction and landed a recurring role on the American series Days of our Lives from November 2005 to January 2006.
She was also a special guest on the rerun of the Bravo Top Chef television series. In addition to American television, Rodriguez has explored roles in Spanish and played two main roles as Rosita Amado and Violeta Hurtado in the series Dame chocolate, which aired on the Telemundo network.
She came to Hollywood with the movie Hours, the last movie in which actor Paul Walker acted before her death.
